    Evan Collier, author of The Dinosaur Tree

    Evan Collier is a dad of six and an artist living in Colorado. Fifteen years ago, when his oldest was two, Evan made up a bedtime story on the spot because nothing else was working. It was simple: if you lay very, very still and stay very, very quiet, your bedroom transforms into a magical dinosaur jungle. That story became the nightly ritual that actually got his kid to settle down.

    All six of my children ended up asking for the same story at bedtime. It got better through the years and became this family tradition that somehow worked when nothing else did. After hearing "Dad, you should really make this into a book" approximately a million times, I finally listened.

    The Dinosaur Tree is my first children's book—a story that's been tested on six kids over fifteen years. I'm working on more, because my kids have strong opinions about what should happen next.
